Danish King Garden in Tallinn

Danish King's Garden
The Danish King’s Garden is located near the Toompea Castle in Tallinn.
Danneborg’s Day – Danish Flag day is held in this romantic garden every summer.

From the 19th  century, the area is a public pleasure garden and one of the most beautiful parks in Tallinn.
Old legends say that the Danes got their national flag in Tallinn, when they were in the battle on the 15th of July in year 1219 and they were starting to lose hope on winning the battle.
Suddenly a flag with white cross on the red background fell from the sky and luck turned in their favor and the won the battle.
The victory gave the Danes more than one hundred years of domination in Tallinn and in Northern Estonia.
