Prices in Estonia

Some prices in Estonia on the 2th July 2009. Let me point out that the prices mentioned
below are the current AVERAGE prices.

Currently 1 EUR = 15.64 Estonian Kroons
and 1 USD = 11.1 Estonian Kroons

You can calculate Estonian prices to other currencies using the currency calculator below:

  1. Gas and transportation prices in Estonia
  • 1 kilometre driving with taxi costs about 0.7 EUR + about 2.2 EUR starting fee

Passengers can choose a taxi of their choice at the taxi stand, but it is cheaper to call a taxi by phone. There are no maximum fee limits, meaning that different taxis might have different price lists. The cost of the taxi-ride for the passenger is shown on the taximeter display – taxi drivers are not allowed to charge passengers a fare higher than the taximeter reading! The taxi fare must be paid in Estonian kroons, but today many taxicabs also allow you to pay by debit card.

  • 1 litre of fuel “98 Euro” costs 0.9 EUR

The price of gas in Estonia is almost the half of what it is in Scandinavian countries. You can see a
full table of gas prices around the world here. The table hasn’t been updated since 2005, but the proportions
are almost the same nowadays.

The parking prices are the highest in Tallinn. Especially in Old Town.

In other bigger cities in Estonia like Tartu, Pärnu and Kuressaare, the parking is a little bit cheaper and in

small towns, the parking is usually free.

Tallinn has three parking zones, which have different parking fees.

City Centre parking zone: 1.02 EUR/hour

  1. Prices of Food and Drinks in Estonia

The food prices in Estonia are relatively lower than in Western European countries of Scandinavia, but the food quality is the same, because the strict regulations on food processing in European Union are the same for all EU member states.
Some of the food prices in Estonia that i have been asked for frequently:

  • 1 litre bottle of vodka costs 11 EUR
  • A bottle of 0.5 l beer costs 0.7 EUR
  • 1 kg of cheese costs 3.8 EUR
  1. Accommodation prices in Estonia

Prices for accommodation in Estonia vary quite a lot.
Depends of what kind of accommodation are you looking for.
For example, the price for a night in a double bed room in Tallinn start at 43 EUR and go up to 100 EUR/night.
You can find cheaper places outside the city centres and at B&B’s in Estonia.
If you have other prices you would like to know in Estonia, then leave a shout in the comments and i will try to answer you as soon as i can.
